This article is called, “I am not ashamed.” There are many things in my life that I have done, and I am truly ashamed of them. I am not proud of things I think, do and say at times. I am ashamed of many of the thoughts I have had run through my mind, and I find myself Repenting before God so many times and ask for forgiveness. See, I have a conscience that lives within me and shows me where I have been wrong and what I have done wrong. I think if we were all honest, everyone could say the same. In addition, I have the Holy Spirit of God that lives in me. And He convicts me of sin and things that I do wrong. I am very thankful for that.
I am human full of mistakes. If people were honest, they would have to admit it also. But it is easier to hide it, because no one wants others to think bad of them. What is the old saying, “They have too many skeletons hanging in their own closet.” Don’t we humans categorize our mistakes by “big mistakes and little mistakes?” And we have other terms that are used to make the mistake or sin sound better, like: you blew it, you messed up, I did a stupid thing. People do that to make the big thing they did, smaller and of less importance. Hopefully it decreases the impact. Like, “Well, I did it, but it wasn’t so bad.” It’s nothing that can’t be fixed. Or you made me do it.
I AM NOT ASHAMED
There are people who are not ashamed about anything they do. (THEY SHOULD BE). In their own mind they simply do not care about anything they do, even if it is illegal or morally wrong. They will tell you, “This is just me and the way I am, if you do not like it, go away or blank, blank, blank, blank. I am not going to change for anyone one, just take me the way I am or leave me.” That is arrogance, pride and ego. Their entire life revolves around themself. Unfortunately, this holds true for both males and females.
If a person is really “Hardcore” they will tell you I just don’t care. They have no remorse or guilt about anything they do. Prisons are full of people like this. Even in prisons their Ego makes them want to be the top dog. I will do whatever I want to do, and no one can stop me. There are so many desperate for attention they will do anything to get it. Do they really think this makes them important or a star in the eyes of others? Why do you think there are so many gang members across the world?
Let’s get a definition of ASHAMED: “ADJECTIVE. 1.embarrassed or guilty because of one’s actions, characteristics, or associations: “you should be ashamed of yourself” · “his clothes and manners made me ashamed of him” · “she felt ashamed that she had hit him” (ASHAMED TO DO SOMETHING) reluctant to do something through fear of embarrassment or humiliation: “I’m ashamed to say I followed him home” · “I am not ashamed to be seen with them” “UNASHAMED.” “not ashamed; not restrained by embarrassment or consciousness of moral guilt: a liar unashamed even after public disgrace.” (definitions by dictionary .com).
G U I L T.
We live in a world where no one is ever guilty of anything. Immorality and crime are totally acceptable in any form and morality is shameful. In fact, immorality has been legalized in countries all across the world. If you are a moral person then you are GUILTY of violating the new social norms and worldly standards. If you are immoral, then you are such a good person and totally accepted. What does God say about this? Hebrews 10:10-18 “As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood:16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
Just as I Timothy 4:1-2 says, “Now the Spirit [a]expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.” They are past feeling with no remorse, guilt or sympathy. I guess we can compare them to “modern day Zombies.”
Guilt and guiltiness are now bad words according to Wokeism and Political Correctness. It carries with it a bad connotation and might hurt someone’s self-esteem. Offensive words must now be banned from society or replaced with new meanings. And those who use those words must be punished. What does God say? Romans 3:19 ““Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.” God means that, and it will happen, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. Judgment Day is coming.
ONE RELIGIOUS BAD BOY
“BAD BOY, BAD BOY, WHAT YOU GONNA DO, WHAT YOU GONNA DO WHEN GOD COMES FOR YOU?” His name was “Saul.” God later changed him and changed his name to “Paul.” No one is too big for God, and God fears no one. Saul was a Religious Fanatic who went about killing Christians. He was to kill them or bring them back to Jerusalem to be put on trial for blasphemy, then to be executed. His name was known everywhere, and he was greatly feared. He was given papers from the authorities’ the Religious rulers in Jerusalem, to go out and arrest these people who were Christians. He was a real Zealot.
Saul was given a band of Roman soldiers to protect him and help arrest these traitors. Their job was to bring them back, so they could be put on trial then executed. Saul was on the Damascus Road going to find Christians when “GOD STRUCK HIM BLIND.” Acts 9:3-9. Then Jesus confronted him and spoke to him from heaven.
Paul became a believer and was saved by the grace of God. He is now a Christian and yet because of all he had done to Christians, no one believed him. I am sure they wondered what kind of game Paul was playing. Was it a game to get close and find more Christians to persecute? NO, his conversion was real. Paul wrote 1/2 of the New Testament books and his whole life from that point on was dedicated to work of God. You probably wonder why I write this part and I will tell you that I really do have a purpose in this.
Paul had been a real scholar in Jewish Law and knew the law forwards and backwards. After Paul’s conversion God took him out into the Arabian desert and re-trained him in the gospel. I think it could be a story called, “From legalism to grace.” Romans 3:15-18 says. “5Their feet are swift to shed blood: and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Paul wrote this in the book of Romans. He knew fully well the meaning of this because he had lived it. Paul never got over what he did and the “SHAME” of it all.
HE WAS “TOTALLY ASHAMED” OF HIS LIFE BEFORE HE MET JESUS CHRIST. EVEN THOUGH HE WAS NOW A NEW MAN IN CHIST, HE CARRIED THAT GUILT WITH HIM EVEN THOUGH HE HAD BEEN FORGIVEN.
I AM NOT ASHAMED
WOW. There is the same title used above. I am very glad that you noticed that, it is no mistake. Paul wrote this in the book of Romans so here it is: 16 “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Paul knew it was the gospel of Jesus Christ (the death burial and resurrection) that gave his Salvation and forgiveness. And he was never ASHAMED of that Gospel. This became Paul’s central message for the rest of his life. Paul also wrote in I Corinthians 2:2 KJV “For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”
Then in I Corinthians 15: 1-4 KJV “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” THIS WAS AND IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MESSAGE IN THE BIBLE.
CONCLUSION
I have talked about Shame, being not Ashamed, Guilt, and Religion in this article. I have used Biblical and worldly examples to show the reality of it. W H Y? Romans 3:19 “19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.” Because every person deals with these in their lives. I believe we have all done things in our lives that we should be ashamed of. Probably things we never want anyone to know about, and we live with the guilt of that, and it brings shame. BUT GOD KNOWS.
First, I want to talk to the Christians. I am very thankful that you are a Christian and Saved by the grace of God. I am thankful that you will have an eternal home in heaven with God. But are you concerned as well and wish this for your relatives, friends and others? Heaven is real and so is Hell. Salvation is real and so is God’s condemnation. If you are saved, then you know how you got saved, then you know enough to tell someone else “HOW THEY CAN BE SAVED.” What is it that hold you back from giving the message the gospel, of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. Maybe it is FEAR, or fear of being rejected? If nothing else learn 3 verses John 3:16-18.
Second, I want to speak to those readers who have never been Saved by the grace of God. I want to put something out that maybe you have never hear so I need a favor from you. Go look in a mirror then come back here and tell me the person you see in the mirror is “PERFECT.” WE ALL KNOW BETTER. We all have messed up; done wrong things and we know it. God calls that SIN. God will never accept sin, but He will forgive your sin it if you ask Him.
This is why Jesus came to earth and became our “SUBSTITUE” AND PAID FOR EVERYONE’S SIN. It was His DEATH, BURIAL AND RESURRECTION THAT PAID FOR EVERYONE’S SIN. There are only 2 choices for you. Accept His sacrifice for you or reject His sacrifice for your sins. It is that simple. Most people have heard about the Salvation of John 3:16, but here is John 3:17-18 17 “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”
As an old friend of mine told me. I RAN UP THE WHITE FLAG OF SURRENDER TO GOD. Maybe you need to change your mind about God and sin, and run of the white flag of surrender to God? Here is the simple truth. We are the sinners, Jesus is the Savior, Jesus came to SAVE sinners. If I were not a Christian, I would do it right now. God is willing to save you and forgive you right now if you ask Him, He accepts Jesus’ payment for our sins, so we do not have to. THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS BODY AND BLOOD PAID THE SIN DEBT. Romans 10:13 says, “For who so ever shall call (ASK) ON THE NAME OF THE LORD SHALL BE SAVED.” Will you honestly bow your HEART and talk to God, He will take you as His child and forgive YOU, for Jesus’ sake.
