Someone will say this is another weird title for an article. I think it fits this article. The hunger of sin is a hunger for sin that feeds our sinful human nature in our flesh bodies. “Sin feeds the flesh that we live in. The body and the flesh feeds on sin.” Sin is like your bodies food that feeds our sinful human nature, we were born with. Just as our body grows so our sinful human nature grows and develops within us. Simply put our sinful human nature hungers for sin just as much as our flesh body hungers for food. We may eat every day and satisfy the hunger of the body, then we are full until the next meal or snack. But the hunger of the sinful human nature, is never full and is never satisfied.
YOUR FLESH EATS ALL THE TIME
Your flesh eats all the time. But it never stops. Someone is thinking, “If my flesh eats all the time, I will weigh a thousand pounds. My stomach would be the size of a large trash can.” Or, that is not true, I am a very skinny person, I eat very little, and I am on a diet. I understand that weight is hard to control while we eat all of the foods that are designed to keep you fat or over-weight. Then your stomach growls and tells your brain, I am hungry, feed me. I do not have to tell you Junk Food has become a way of life for many and has replaced normal cooking.
The truth is that I am not talking about the stomach, nor the appetite, nor food. I am talking about “THE FLESH THAT WE LIVE IN.” It does eat all the time, it never stops. Just as your heart beats all the time and how you breath all the time. BUT YES, YOUR FLESH HAS AN APPETITE AND DESIRES TO BE FILLED WITH SIN ALL OF THE TIME.
WHAT IS THE LUST OF THE FLESH
Got questions can answer this better than I can so here goes. “Sinful lust is an overpowering desire for that which God has forbidden. First John 2:15–16 mentions three types of lust that lead us into greater sin: “Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and thepride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.” The lust of the eyes occurs when we see something visually that incites covetousness, jealousy, or sexual lust. The pride of life is the desire in every human being to be his or her own god. Arrogance, self-promotion, and greed all stem from the pride of life. The lust of the flesh is also one of the foes we fight.
When the Bible refers to “the flesh,” it can mean one of two things. The first meaning of the word flesh pertains to living beings on earth such as animals, birds, and people (1 Corinthians 15:39). But most often the Bible uses the word flesh to refer to the propensity to sin we possess in our earthly existence. Our sinful nature, dominated by sin and rebellion, is so closely tied to the physical aspect of mankind that it is called “the flesh.” Every human being is born of the flesh, the union between a man and a woman that produced another flesh-bound human. Desires that arise from being fleshly creatures in a fallen world can quickly become sinful lusts.
Desires that arise from the fact that we are earth-bound, fleshly creatures are not sins in themselves. We desire food, water, shelter, sex, and comfort. God created us with those desires. However, we are born sinful, desiring to please ourselves, regardless of God’s moral law (Romans 3:10, 12). When fleshly desires rule us, taking priority over God’s will, they cause us to violate God’s righteousness. They become lusts. For example, hunger propels us to find food. Eating is good. It is not sin. Jesus ate and drank when He was on the earth (Luke 24:42–43). But when hunger becomes a lust for food, it turns into gluttony, which is a sin (Proverbs 23:20–21). When natural sexual desires turn perverse, they lead to homosexuality, adultery, fornication, and other sexually related sins. Those are lusts of the flesh.
First John 2:17 contrasts the lust of the flesh with its more desirable counterpart, pleasing God: “The world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God remains forever.” In other words, if we follow the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, we cannot do the will of God, and therefore will not inherit eternal life (Matthew 7:21; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10; Galatians 5:19–20). Those who have been born again by faith in the sacrifice of Jesus will continually put to death the deeds of the flesh (Romans 8:12–14). We will not allow the lust of our flesh to control our lives; rather, we will choose to consider ourselves “crucified with Christ” (Galatians 2:20) so that we might live for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).”
CONCLUSION
We all have good intentions but fail short in what we say or do. There is an old saying my grandparents us to say so here it is: “THE ROAD TO HELL IS PAVED WITH GOOD INTENTIONS.” How many times have you forgotten what you promised others you would do? Or you got too busy and forgot it? “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Just before His arrest, Jesus was in the Garden of Gethsemane, and He said to His disciples, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41). The command came after Jesus had been praying to the Father and had found the disciples sleeping instead of praying (verses 38–40). He had admonished them to stay awake and pray with Him, but “their eyes were heavy” (verse 43), and they kept falling asleep. They slept right up until the time the armed mob came to take Jesus away (verses 45–47).
Because “the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak,” the disciples were caught unawares in Gethsemane. The word for “spirit” in this passage is the Greek word pneuma, which in this context refers to the soul of man or the mind. The word for “flesh” refers to the human body and nature, with its moral and physical frailties. When Jesus first found the disciples sleeping, He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” (Matthew 26:40), and then afterward told them all to watch and pray in order to avoid temptation.”
The spirit of a believer is willing to follow God, but the flesh is weak. The demands, desires, and fears of human nature can pull us way off track. Satan has set up the world to appeal to the weaknesses of the flesh: lust, greed, gluttony, and other sins are directly related to the demands of the body. Is it any wonder that almost every advertisement you see and hear speaks to the fulfillment of the lust of the flesh? Another weakness of the flesh is the fear that we will not be taken care of. But Jesus spoke to this fear too: “I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:25–26).
Every human lives in a flesh body. Our bodies and human nature are subject to sin. We were born that way. Psalm 51:5 “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” God says we were all born in sin. (SINNERS). As we grow it develops more in our lives. That is why you never have to teach a child how to do wrong, it is their human nature also. Now add to that the desires of the flesh. Now add to that the influence of Satan. God did not create humans this way. People hunger for sin to please their own flesh, lust, desires and human nature.
This is totally against God and contrary to what God created. We were also created with a conscience, which deals with what is right and wrong, and good and evil. Too many people are hungry for sin and totally ignore their own conscience for pleasure and experiences. Our world has changed, and many forms of immorality have been sanctioned and legislated into law all across the world. This is now labeled as “HUMAN RIGHTS.” Satan is reaching his goal of evil and total corruption in this world. Things are getting worse by the day, and the Globalist are doing their “RESET” of the whole world. They are setting up their one world government, one world money system and one world religion for the Tribulation period of the Bible.
The only good news is this. Christians are going on home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ in the Rapture of the church very soon. My question to you is this. “Are you a Christian? Have you been saved and born again by the blood of Jesus Christ?” Jesus is the only solution for the sin problem. God gave His only begotten son to die on the cross, suffer, bleed and die for OUR SINS.
Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection paid the price and satisfied God’s Holiness. God will save you and accept you, because of what Jesus did for us. He paid for our sins as our substitute. Jesus bought our salvation and forgiveness with his own blood. Romans 10:13 tells us this. “For who so ever shall call (ASK) upon the name of the Lord, shall be saved. Receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior.
Bow your heart, turn to God and ask for forgiveness and God will save you immediately and give you eternal Salvation. place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ for Salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
