This article is called “The Voice Of God, Part 1” I do hope you will continue and also read Part 2. I think perhaps the first thing a person will ask is, have you ever heard the voice of God? And the second question would be how can you hear the voice of God? What does the voice of God sound like? I understand there are many voices in the world saying many things. And these voices we hear everyday come from various sources, and many of them speak and through out garbage. The media are liars just like the globalist who want to take away your very rights, legalize immorality, dominate every country and the world, and make you their slave. Just listen to the media and you will plainly hear it and see it.
As an individual, I believe there are many voices that speak to you. Family, friends, co-workers, teachers, preachers, boss, and others that you really do not want to hear or deal with. Even the Bible says in Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” This is where a dividing line comes in and people say, I just can’t agree with them or walk with them. People are dumped and fellowship and relationship with friends and family. disappears because of this. People do not know how to agree to disagree. So many people just have to be right.
GOD’S VOICE
35 times in the Bible, it talks about God’s voice. God should only have to speak once, being who He is.John 10:3-5 Jesus said, My sheep hear my voice and a stranger they will not follow. Christ is the good shepherd of the sheep. God speaks to us throught the Bible, through prayer, through the Holy Spirit that lives in us and throught the sacrified of Salvation through Jesus Christ. God also speaks to us through our own conscience. All through the Bible God spoke audibly, many times.
God speaking, it is not always clear whether it was an audible voice, an inner voice, or a mental impression. We know through the Old Testament God spoke through His prophets. AS got questions .com says: “God can also “speak” to us through events—i.e., He can guide us through arranging our circumstances. And God helps us to discern right from wrong through our consciences (1 Timothy 1:5; 1 Peter 3:16). God is in the process of conforming our minds to think His thoughts (Romans 12:2). God allows events to occur in our lives to direct us, change us, and help us to grow spiritually (James 1:2–5;Hebrews 12:5–11). First Peter 1:6–7 reminds us. In the Old Testament God often spoke to human through Angels.
“In this you greatly rejoice, though n ow for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.”
God may sometimes speak audibly to people. It is highly doubtful, though, that this occurs as often as some people claim it does. Again, even in the Bible, God speaking audibly is the exception, not the ordinary. If anyone claims that God has spoken to him or her, always compare what is said with what the Bible says. If God were to speak today, His words would be in full agreement with what He has said in the Bible (2 Timothy 3:16–17). God does not contradict Himself.
Thank you Mark Ballenger for these words of wisdom, and your article from: apply Gods word.com and his website. He is a great writer. I Quote Mark now.
“How can you tell the difference between God’s voice and the voice in your head? How can you know if God is speaking to you or if you are just making his voice up so you can feel free to do what you want? Here are 3 differences betorween God’s voice and the voice in your head. AS:Thank
God’s Voice Never Contradicts Scripture
I definitely believe that the Holy Spirit says personal things to God’s people. However, the Holy Spirit will never contradict himself. Since we know that the Holy Spirit inspired the words of Scripture, we also know what he says to us personally will never contradict what we know he has already said in the written word of God.
In John 16:13 Jesus said, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” InJohn 17:17 when Jesus was praying to the Father he said, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” So if the voice in your head ever says anything that contradicts Scripture, that is not the voice of God.
God’s Voice Is Never Wrong
Sometimes people feel that God tells them something that cannot be confirmed or denied by studying the Scriptures. For example, many people who are single feel like when they first met someone God told them that this person would become their spouse one day. Some people believe God promised them a certain job, a certain ministry opportunity, or a certain outcome to an important life issue.
I am certainly not here to tell people what God did or did not say to them individually. We can certainly say without doubt that if you hear a voice tell you something unbiblical then that is not God’s voice. But when it comes to morally-neutral things that are personal to our unique lives that cannot be confirmed or denied in the Bible, the only way to truly know if it was God’s voice or your voice is if what was said comes true. In Deuteronomy 18:21-22it states: “You may say to yourselves, ‘How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?’ If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously, so do not be alarmed.”
Some of the main differences between God’s voice and the voice in your own head is that if God actually says something it will always come true. So if you heard something in your head and then it does not come true, it was not God’s voice. So many times I have heard from others saying, “God told me to tell you this.” You need to be careful who you listen too or what you say about God.
Your Voice Serves You. God’s Voice Serves God
The final way that you can tell the difference between the voice in your head compared to God’s voice is that God’s voice is always God-centered and the voice in our heads is man-centered. In other words, when we are just making the voice of God up in our heads, we are usually just telling ourselves what we want to hear. The voice in your head will serve you. When God speaks, however, his voice will lead you to glorify him.
I am certainly not saying that God will always tell you to do the opposite of what you want. When you are walking in the Spirit your desires will be conformed to God’s desires. When you are truly filled with the Spirit, your desire will be to do what God wants. So I am not saying that God will never tell you to do things that you want to do.
But overall, one major difference between God’s voice and the voice in your head can be felt in your conscience. Usually we know when we are just telling ourselves what we want to hear because in those moments we are trying to glorify ourselves rather than God. But when God truly speaks to you he will always lead you to glorify him, which will bring you maximum joy. AsGalatians 5:16-17 explains.
“So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.” End Quotes.” I think Mark Ballengers analysis is awesome, I need to buy one of his books.
Example: I lived next door to James and his family, they were nice people and Christians. I noticed something about James that bothered me. He would talk to people and agree with whatever they said.. Often contradicting opinions, about scripture. Yet James said he was a preacher. I really felt he was weak in the faith or lacked biblical knowledge, that is not a cut I am just speaking the truth. James comes to me one day and says I have something to tell you.
Then James informs me a little church down the road is having a 2 week revival services. James told me he had talked to the people and that he was going to preach the first week and that I would preach the second week of revival. I said, James, I cannot do that I am not a preacher, God has not called me to preach. James replied, Ray, you have to. “GOD TOLD ME TO TELL YOU TO PREACH THE SECOND WEEK.” I said, James, “WHY WOULD GOD TELL YOU AND NOT TELL ME CONSIDERING I AM NOT A MINISTER?” So, I lost a friend that day but honored God and His Word.
Two years later I was honored and God allowed me to go to Bible College for 4 years. I wanted to learn more about God tp be able to help others. 2 years after Bible College God called me to preach His Word. There are so many people who claim to have a ministry, who pervert the word of God and make it say what they want it to be. The real problem with them is the “SIN ISSUE.” That dirty word sin, in our culture, is never mentioned from their pulpit.
They preach a false gospel with a false “god.” Many Mega-Churches deceive thousands ever week. Salvation has become attending, giving, and membership in their church. Jesus is not the center of their program and rarely spoke of. They are leading people to hell. Health and Wealth is more important to them.
Sin separated us from God all the way back in the garden of Eden with our original parents, Adam and Eve. This broke our relationship and fellowship with God our Creator. God will never ever accept any sin because of who He is. But He will forgive all sin. God cannot and will never accept sin because of who He is. BUT HE WILL FORGIVE SIN AND GIVE YOU ETERNAL SALVATION. God sent His only begotten son (JESUS) to die on a cruel cross and pay for our sins. II Corinthians 5:21 “For he (GOD) hath made him (JESUS) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” This is the only means of Salvation in the entire universe.
DEAR FRIEND IF YOU ARE A REAL CHRISTIAN, YOU CANNOT BE COMFORTABLE AROUND SIN AND WHAT GOD HATES? THINK ABOUT THAT.
If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and have never been forgiven for sin, will you turnfrom yourself and turn to God for salvation and forgiveness? Will you bow your heart and (ASK) call on God? Will you put your faith and trust in Jesus for Salvation? Romans 10:13 “For who so ever shall (ASK) call on the name of the Lord, shall be saved.” FRIEND, DO YOU REALIZE HOW MUCH YOU REALLY NEED GOD IN YOUR LIFE?
If you have called upon God and asked for forgiveness and Salvation, would you please let me know below in the comment section at the bottom so I can rejoice with you. Also, all comments, thoughts and opinions are welcome so leave them at the bottom in the reply section. This concludes “The Voice Of God”. Please enjoy the beautiful song here. RAY
