This article is called, “WHAT DO YOU VALUE?”There will be many various opinions to this question. Anyone with a brain will see how we live in a materialistic world and society. The more you get the more you want. I understand mankind’s flesh is never satisfied. Does there ever come a time when people do not want more and more? To many will NEVER be satisfied with what they have, desire and want. Money, power, things, riches and recognition tops the list of things most desired. This is what the world wants and needs in their own mind. This is what they value and what makes them happy. 

PEOPLE VALUE THINGS MORE THAN PEOPLE

Does there ever come a time in a human’s life where they can say, “ENOUGH?” This becomes their meaning of their life. So, what you have or can get, defines who you are. I have said for years, “PEOPLE GET ALL THEY CAN, CAN ALL THEY GET, THEN SIT ON THE CAN.” This is why the LOTTERY is so popular. People really do have a great desire to be part of the rich and famous, they desire and crave to be part of the “SUPER-ELITE.”

Would it really surprise you to find out the super elite are very scared people and selfish. They have it all and worry everyday how and when they will lose it. I know this because I worked for 2 different Millionaires myself. Their stress level was always out the roof because of fear of losing it all. Never satisfied. Now here is a fact and I witnessed it.

The millionaire man (Bill) I worked for, screamed at his own son, because his son used Bill’s peanut butter, on two crackers. Forget the man had five additional jars of peanut butter, and four additional large boxes of crackers.

Bill fired one of my co-workers because he drank one canned COKE out of Bill’s 6 cases. When my co-worker finished his shift, he ran to the store and purchased two can cokes to replace it. There was never any intent of stealing, but Bill did not see it that way. 

Bills health declined and he had to be put in a nursing home. I worked for him while he was in the nursing home. And yes, he had his peanut butter, crackers and his cokes with him there. His mansion, money antiques, stocks and bonds, and status did not go with him to the nursing home. Neither did any of those things go with him when he died in 6 months. Bill once told me this: Ray, I have been a Presbyterian for 50 years and still do not know what a Presbyterian is. The agency I worked for and Bill’s Family “FORBID ANY WORKER FROM TALKING ABOUT GOD OR THE BIBLE, with Bill.”

The second multi-millionaire I worked for was a “Paranoid Schizophrenic.” This was one vile, evil, wicked, vulgar (maybe demon possessed) individual. Her purpose in life was money, power and things. Her status made her a “god”, but this little god made everyone’s life a living hell. Her joy was beating everyone down. That is all you need to know about this one.

What do you value? Jesus said in Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” From Christianity .com “Jesus revealed the truth that what a person values most is where their “heart is at.” “A person’s time, attention, actions, and energy will be focused on whatever they value above all else. For the Pharisees, they valued man’s opinion and money above God.”

I have had a favorite saying for years so here it is. “ONLY ONE LIFE WILL SOON BE PASSED. ONLY WHAT’S DONE FOR CHRIST WILL LAST.” Think about that. 

WHAT DOES GOD VALUE

Would you be surprised if I told you, that God values you? You are a physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual creature. God made you that way. (GOD DOES NOT MAKE GENERIC OR JUNK.) Psalm 139:14 “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” Do you realize how valuable you are to God and the great price He paid for you? I Corinthians 6:19-20 “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? ²⁰ For ye are bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Humans value things that are temporal but God values things that are eternal. And yes, Dear Reader part of you is eternal. Things have never impressed God. Only God is self-sufficient, we are not. Your creation, your existence, your very life and Gods’ love for you, proves your VALUE to God. Your Salvation and Redemption further proves your Value to God. In Gods’ eyes you are the “ELITE” IN JESUS CHRIST. 

CONCLUSION

I have a serious question for everyone. I want to talk about our reality for a few minutes. We all have family and relatives. Most people also have friends or co-workers. How close are you to them and how much do you value them? What would you do for them? Would you die for them? Would you take a bullet for them? Would you die for the one who killed your family or friends? If they were truly sorry and apologized, would you accept their apology? Our human nature will say, “NO, PUT THEM IN JAIL OR EXECUTE THEM.”

Better yet, Let me have 10 minutes with them and you will no longer have to deal with him. People would say, “Fry him, that person has no value for any human life. Fry that piece of trash.” In this situation what you valued the most was taken away from you. In real situations people live with the horror of this for the rest of their lives. Long time ago I watched a movie called “UNFORGIVEN“. It starred Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman and Gene Hackman. I will never forget one line from that movie. Clint Eastwood said, “It is a hell of a thing to kill a man. You take away everything he had or ever will ever have.” There is a lot of truth in that statement.

Romans 5:7-11 “ For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. ⁸ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. 

¹⁰ For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. ¹¹ And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”

I had the heading above that asked, “What does God Value?” And the answer was YOU. Because part of you is eternal. God sees things differently than we do. God is different than we are. God does not have a sinful human nature like we do. 

Let’s go back to before our creation. In heaven Lucifer/Satan tried to overthrow God and take over heaven. One third of the angels followed him in his rebellion. God judged them all and kicked them out of heaven. Their eternal destination will be hell and the lake of fire. Jesus said, John 8:44 “ Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”

When was Satan a murderer? Satan killed humanity in the garden of Eden “SPIRITUALLY”, it is called the fall. His weapon was sin, not a gun. His goal was and still is to take away everything you have had or ever will have. Hell of a thing? Absolutely, because it is now eternal. This is where our relationship and fellowship with God, our Creator Separated us. Sin kills us, Romans 6:23 “²³ For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Isaiah 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

SIN IS THE REAL KILLER, AND IT LEAD TO HELL. 

As God’s Scripture says in Isaiah 59 right above, our iniquities separated us from God and our sins hide His face from us. I asked the question earlier, “WHAT DOES GOD VALUE.” And the answer was “YOU.” You have eternal value to God. The Sin issue has always been with us ever since the garden of Eden, and it kills us. God dealt with sin issue for us. How? He gave his holy undefiled Son to come to earth and die in our place and pay for our sins. Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection paid for our sins, and reconciled US back to God for Salvation and Fellowship. Can I prove that, YES. Hebrews 8:12 “ For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.”

Sin and Satan can no longer take away everything we have had or will ever have. And it is no longer a hell of a thing for Christians. The name of this article is called what do you value? I also said “GOD VALUED His creation (US) enough to pay for our sins, that separated us from Him. That my friend is “ETERNAL LOVE.” God also valued you enough to give you a gift in your life. It is called, “FREE WILL.” That is your ability to choose. You have the right to Choose Forgiveness of sin or reject it. You will choose heaven or hell, or eternal salvation or condemnation, and be forgiven or unforgiven.

Romans 10:13 says, “For who so ever shall call (ASK) on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Will you turn from yourself and turn to God right now? Just bow your heart and ask Him for forgiveness.
