This article is called, “WHEN YOU PUT RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE OVER GOD’S WORD.” What I have just stated is so true in many Christian circles, especially in what they call “SERVICE TO THE LORD.” My mind goes back to the old, old saying, “It is better FELT THEN TOLD.” I have had so many in my lifetime, tell me this. “Let me tell you what I have experienced.” Unfortunately, their experience cannot be verified and does not match up to God’s infallible Word.
I want to state the purpose of this article here at the beginning. Feel free to disagree with me. I believe the WORLD has invaded the churches. Political Correctness is taking over with new words and new definitions. Christian words such as “SIN” are now offensive and is HATE SPEECH. The LGBTQ+ declares that “Jesus was GAY,” and is now accepted into their movement. I am sure Jesus is impressed and honored. These are quickly replacing the true worship and message of the gospel of Christ. The new world’s so-called standards are prevailing.
I really have to ask and wonder if these cult-like churches are in competition with each other, to see who can produce the largest spectacular, supernatural “GIMMICKS?” The video below shows many fake miracles, and even a “FAKE RESURRECTION OF A MAN FROM THE DEAD.” The sad part is how the church people believed it.
Religious Experiences and entertainment is replacing preaching and teaching in churches. I have to wonder if God the Father, Jesus the Savior, and the Holy Spirit are allowed to take part in these church services. “WILL GOD HIMSELF DECLARE “ICHABOD” WHICH MEANS THE GLORY HAS DEPARTED?” I Samuel 4:21 and 14:3.
SALVATION VERSUS RELIGIOUS EXPERIENCE
Someone is asking themself right now, “What is the difference?” (1.) Christianity holds to Salvation through Jesus Christ, coming from the true and living God, “CHRISTIANITY DEALS WITH THE SIN ISSUE, OTHER RELIGIONS DO NOT.” Only Christianity addresses the sin problem by changing the heart of man. II Corinthians 5:17 (2) Religious experiences alone, come from various places, and sources, observing rites and rituals, false gods, and worldly philosophy, not Jesus or God. That is why we talk about all the different “RELIGIONS” in the world. (3.) Then we have many today who will say, I am “SPIRITUAL BUT NOT RELIGIOUS, Making no distinction between the spiritual world and the natural world.” Spiritual traditions of folklore and myths. They are NOT affiliated with what they consider a Religious Organization.
In my studies of history, I find many scholars who say since the beginning of time as we know it, there have been over 4200 different RELIGIONS in this world. And it should really not surprise anyone, how each civilization and culture always had its own religion. A deeper question is this, “how did this affect and impact their life and existence?” This still continues today.
I do not doubt that many have had an experience, But what kind of experience was it and where did it come from? Again, is their experience Biblical and where did it come from? Here are a few examples that I hear. God told me…. God revealed this to me…. God spoke to me in a dream or a vision….. If these are true then that would be a “NEW REVELATION FROM GOD.” It would be the same process that God used in giving His Word (the Bible) to His prophets. So, you will have to believe there is a new ongoing prophecy going on today.
In addition, how do these new revelations and new prophecies line up with the Word of God or are counter to the Word of God? Would these new revelations be equal and as authoritative as the Word of God? May I give you a personal example, please? Years ago I rented a house and had some fine neighbors next door. James and his wife were normal people. They said they were Christians and I believed them. I noticed when James was around people he would always agree with anyone about any biblical subject. I am talking about any false doctrine also, which greatly bothered me.
James came to me one night and said, “Ray, guess what? There is a church 5 minutes away from here and they are going to have a 2-week revival. I have accepted the invitation for me and you. I will preach the revival the first week and you will preach the revival the second week.” I told James No, I could not do that. I told James that I am not a preacher and God has not called me to preach. Now James is angry with me and told me that I had to preach the second week because “GOD TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD. GOD TOLD ME TO TELL YOU.” My response was this: “James, why would God tell you and not tell me, especially when I am not a preacher? The Bible gives the qualifications of a minister and His calling upon a person’s life. I am not qualified and I have not been called to preach God’s Word.
Needless to say, James still persisted that God told him that I was to preach the second week of a revival service. I stood true to God’s Word that day and lost a friend. I believe James’ zeal, desire, feelings, and emotions, led him in his decision about preaching a revival then included me for whatever reason. GOD NEVER EVER CONTRADICTS HIS OWN WORD.
THERE IS ONLY ONE GOSPEL
Let this heading sink into your heart and soul, there is only one gospel, but many Religions. I fear there are too many so-called gospels in our world, which are claimed to be gospels of God, which are not. Here is what the Apostle Paul told us. Galatians 1:6- 12 “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.9 As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preaches any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed 10 For do I now persuade men or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. 11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” Many will say, I believe this, but what will they ADD TO IT OR TAKE AWAY FROM IT? ESPECIALLY, WHAT EXPERIENCE WILL THEY ADD TO THE THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST? WHAT WORKS WILL THEY ADD TO THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST?
NEVER ELEVATE SOMEONE’S EXPERIENCE OR WORKS, OVER THE WORD OF GOD. I BELIEVE SATAN HIMSELF HAS STARTED ALL FALSE RELIGIONS IN THIS WORLD, AND SATAN WILL ALWAYS HELP YOU HAVE MANY KIND OF EXPERIENCES, THAT IS NOT BIBLICAL. Maybe people have forgotten that Satan hates God and His Word, and Satan will always lead you into anything else that is not from God-especially experiences that are not biblical but worldly. People swallow anything today that sounds good because they are illiterate of God’s Word.
THERE ARE MANY WAYS AND MANY ROADS TO GOD
Paul said this. I Corinthians 2:2 “For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” This was the true gospel of Jesus Christ that Paul preached. He did not add or take away from it. NEITHER DID PAUL GLORIFY THE EXPERIENCES THAT HE HAD WITH GOD. Paul did not build a false gospel based on his experiences that he had with God. But churches and pulpits across the world are filled with so-called ministers, preaching all about new experiences with God. They claim to have new revelations and new prophecies from God and want to make them as authoritative as God’s Word.
You have the false “SATANIC DOCTRINE” being accepted that there are many ways to God. There are many roads that lead to God and Salvation. All Religions are true and equal. We are all praying to the same God and are just calling him by different names. THIS IS A SATANIC LIE FROM THE PITS OF HELL. Jesus said, JOHN 14:6 “I am the way and the truth and the life.No one comes to the Father except through me” Pope Francis and other fake Religious rulers want this verse banned from the Bible-no joke. He had the gall to say God told him to re-write the 10 commandments. I say to Francis, ANATHEMA (THE CURSE OF GOD BE UPON YOU).
So-called Progressive churches today are opening their doors to drag queens to come in take over their pulpits and have drag queen story hour with children in the churches. Churches now allow any kind of immorality in the church and accept it. They need to change their church signs outside to say, “COME ON IN AND SIN-ALL ARE WELCOME. Satan has and is offering new progressive experiences straight from hell and churches are drinking Satan’s Kool-Aid. Jesus is now a hater according to the world’s new Political Correctness and all of their new terms, and new definitions. I want to puke when I see so much garbage calling Jesus “GAY.” If Jesus was gay then he was not God. If Jesus was gay then he died on the cross for his own sins. He could not have been the messiah or ever given Salvation to anyone. If Jesus was gay then there was no resurrection and no hope of eternal life for anyone.
MORE EXPERIENCES THAT WILL NOT SAVE YOU
In I Corinthians chapter 12 you will find a list of “GIFTS OF THE SPIRIT OF GOD.” READ IT. You will find that each Christian is given a gift by the Holy Spirit of God when they are saved. The Christians gift or gifts are for their service to the Lord and their service to the Church, as members of the body of Christ. Understand the Holy Spirit himself gives you the spiritual gift and talent that He wants you to have, you do not choose it-God does.
On the day of Pentecost, after Jesus’ ascension back to heaven the Holy Spirit of God came to live in believers permanently. The purpose of those spiritual gifts was to prove the message of the Apostles about death, burial, and resurrection was true. Never before had the Holy Spirit came to permanently live inside a believer. The Apostles were given special miracle-performing gifts to prove that their message about Jesus was true. Everyone knew that only God could perform miracles. Thus the message the Apostles preached about Jesus must be from God.
Each person who has been saved, born again, and redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, is given at least one spiritual gift by the Holy Spirit at their conversion. The Holy Spirit of God never gives any human a gift to glorify that person. On the very contrary, the gift is given to glorify Jesus Christ, not yourself. This was the reason Paul rebuked the church in I Corinthians chapter 14 for their arrogance, abuse, and misuse of their gift.
Paul had to rebuke the Church at Corinth and then set up a form of worship and leadership. Their new EXPERIENCE with spiritual gifts was NOT to glorify them but to glorify, teach and preach the Lord Jesus Christ. They had made ministry, worship, and service about themselves and their spiritual gift, not about Jesus, or the message of salvation.
Women had taken over the church and services and exalted their new gifts and experiences. The church at Corinth was a disaster and Paul had to rebuke the whole church and set it in order. Their new experiences and their gifts ruled supreme, “NOT JESUS CHRIST.” Dear Reader in the Religious world today we are seeing the same thing throughout the world. In too many denominations there are fakes, false prophets, preaching a false gospel, and false doctrines. High-tech large churches that glorify themselves, claiming to be Apostles with new power and authority. Ministry has become all about money, control, and heretics perverting God’s Word. Their so-called ministry is all about having a new experience with and glorifying the miracle gifts that no longer exist. Many Churches today are no longer Christ-centered, but “SELF-CENTERED.”
Here is what the Apostle Paul said. CONCLUSION
RELIGION WILL ETERNALLY DOOM YOU AND KILL YOU! There are many religions across this planet that are fabricated and manufactured by mankind and Satan. I have talked about “EXPERIENCES AND GIFTS THAT WILL NOT SAVE YOUR SOUL.” The only experience and gift that will give you salvation is this one, and it comes from GOD, NOT MAN. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
The Apostle Paul said this: I Corinthians 2:2 “2 For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.” Paul and the other Apostles preached this message and never GLORIFIED EXPERIENCES, GIFTS, OR MANS WORKS. Their message of Salvation was ALWAYS this. The death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ who alone died and paid for OUR SINS. Simply put SIN separated us from God and made us sinners. God does not and never has accepted sin. Sin is contrary to who God is and sin must be paid for. What God demanded only He could supply (the payment for sin). Jesus took our place and died for OUR SINS. Jesus through His own sacrifice satisfied God and paid for ALL sins so that we could be accepted by God.
Dear Reader. Christianity is NOT a Religion. It is a personal relationship with God. Christianity deals with the one “ISSUE” Religions do not deal with. “IT IS THE SIN ISSUE.” Religion deals with MAN doing something (performance and works). Christianity deals with what GOD HAS DONE FOR US. Anytime you replace the work of God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and His payment for sin with anything else, you have a false gospel and a fake Religion. Understand that Satan will give you plenty of religious experiences and fake gifts that will only lead you to Hell.
I see so many fake televangelists who stand in pulpits with no gospel message. The so-called message is about how God wants everyone to be rich, or the health and wealth gospel. It is like “BUY MY NEW BOOK ON HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND BLESSED BY GOD. I NEED ANOTHER JET AIRTPLANE. I get sick of hearing how they need to give more money before God blesses them. I see so-called “church services which are nothing more than ROCK CONCERTS AND LIGHT SHOWS. Churches look like some Circus to entertain the Congregation. Too many pastors guilt the congregation into giving more and more by saying, “GOD DOES NOT BLESS YOU BECAUSE YOU DO NOT GIVE ENOUGH.” Yea, the pastor needs ANOTHER $6 Million dollar home. Yet they will never preach a message on Jesus and SIN.
HERE IS WHERE MANY CHURCHES ARE TODAY AND PAUL AND TIMOTHY WARNED US WHAT TO LOOK FOR. II TIMOTHY 4:1-6 “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. CHRISTIANS, WE ARE SEEING IT RIGHT NOW.
Paul said in I Corinthians 2:2 “2 For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. This was always Paul’s primary message and goal. He knew Jesus and His work on the cross for sinners was the only hope of Salvation and Eternal life with Him in heaven. I am talking about the Salvation of souls here. I am talking about eternal matters and every person’s final destiny. I take this very seriously and I have no desire to see anyone but SATAN in hell. Heaven is real and so is the lake of fire. The message of Jesus and what He did on the cross, is central to the salvation and forgiveness of anyone.
Jesus did for us what we could not do. He satisfied God and Reconciled humanity back to God. Jesus took our place as our substitute and paid for our sins in His own body. God accepted the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins and gives us the forgiveness that we have never deserved. HERE IS THE BOTTOM LINE. 1. WE ARE THE SINNERS. 2. JESUS IS THE SAVIOR. 3 JESUS CAME TO SAVE SINNERS. There is only 1 EXPERIENCE THAT GOD IS INTERESTED IN. THAT IS THE EXPERIENCE OF BEING SAVED AND FORGIVEN BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. THIS IS A ENTERING A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.
Acts 16:31 says, “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Our Salvation is through His grace and is a free GIFT from God. Believe this message about what Jesus did in paying our sin debt for us, and simply ask God to save you and forgive you. AND HE WILL. And God will give you an eternal home in heaven with Him.
